Welcome to my blog! My name is Eric and despite the name of the blog, I’m not quite wealthy just yet. In 2018, I took my first ever economics class where, at the end of the semester, we had a brief unit on personal finance. We covered simple stuff like saving money, budgeting, and investing. It was in that class that I realized I knew absolutely nothing about all of these important life topics. Over the next couple of weeks, I scoured the internet reading up about all sorts of topics and went to the nearest Barnes and Noble to pick up some recommended finance books. My eyes were opened to the big scary world of personal finance.
I’m a Zillenial and a first generation Asian-American. Growing up, my parents didn’t really talk about money. I was always just told “save, save, save”. I was taught nothing about stocks, real estate, taxes, estate planning and all the other stuff adults needed to know to grow their wealth and retire. I realized how incredibly important these things were and dedicated hours upon hours reading all sorts of educational content on the topic.
This blog is intended to try to help others who might be going through their own personal finance journey. I hope to share my knowledge, my failures, and my successes so that others may learn from them as well. This blog also serves as a way for me to document my journey becoming a wealthy Zillenial. Let’s grow our Net Worth’s together!
